SWAP THE HIKE FOR A BIKE FOR THE TIMBER TRAIL WITH EPIC CYCLE ADVENTURES
HOW IT WORKS
Take a break from your long walk and give cycling the Timber Trail a go. Epic Cycle Adventures offers a variety of options to suit your needs and budget. How it works is we meet you at Pureora Villagae around 9.30am with a bike and a small backpack. From Pureora we transfer your hiking pack from there to Camp Epic at Piropiro whilst you ride the first 40km of the Timber Trail. Grab your hiking pack at Camp Epic and stay overnight at your chosen accommodation. The next morning head out again on your bike to ride the remaining 42km of the Timber Trail from Piroprio to Ongarue. We will collect your hiking pack from Camp Epic and transfer it to Ongarue. Finish your ride at our base in Ongarue where we will collect our bike back and hand back your hiking pack for you to carry on your journey.
If staying at Camp Epic, the food provided includes:
- Day 1 lunch: cheese and tomato sandwich/roll, apple/banana and 2 muesli/granola bars.
- Day 1 dinner: DIY heat & eat Moana brand meal with mash/rice
- Day 2 breakfast: Make your own with the supplies which includes eggs, toast, spreads, cereals, milks, tea, coffee, milo, marshmallows.
ACOMMODATION OPTIONS:
CAMP EPIC
Choose to stay on a tent site with your own tent or upgrade to a glamping tent with a full linen on a comfy bed.
Both options at Camp Epic include lunch on day 1, dinner day 1 and a breakfast on day 2. Our facilities include bathrooms with amazing hot showers, kitchen with cooking equipment, dining room with books & games, and camp fire with marshmallows to toast.
PIROPIRO DOC CAMP
Basic campground with only longdrop toilets & a few half-hut shelters. No food provided at the DOC Camp, you must carry all your own supplies.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Bookings are essential! We can only bring you a bike if we know you are going to be there. We also need your height so we can bring the right sized bike. To book email paul@epiccycleadventures.com or call/text/whatsapp +64220237958. Book ahead whilst in Te Kuiti is a good option.
Also note that space at Camp Epic and ebike hire is limited on Saturdays and public holidays. If you want to ride on a weekend you will likely need to stay at the DOC campsite and book a standard mountain bike.
